Vintage lucite box bag c. 1950's

During the 50’s a wonderful new plastic bag that was to become used for the handbags we know today as Lucite box purses were developed by DuPont. These plastic bags could me moulded or shaped into designs that the world had never set eyes on before. This is the first one we have put on the site as we feel they are real one offs. This bag is no exception The upper and lower rims of the bag are lined with a burgundy snakeskin which complements the clear amber lid and the marbeled sides. The lucite chain handle sits on top.. No markers to identify the manufacturer. Condition : Excellent,The lucite is not cracked and there are a few marks of wear to the lid of the bag.
