Vintage Art Deco Powder Compact

We love coming across such rare beautys as this! A stunning Art Deco period butterfly wing English powder compact signed TLM for Thomas Le Mott of Birmingham, England, who started the fashion for butterfly wing jewellery in the 1920's/1930's. The butterfly wings form part of the young woman's skirt and the lake, the whole picture is mounted under plastic. Condition: In overall excellent for its age. The butterfly wings have no loss of luminosity. The picture within the metal frame, has come away slightly at the top but is secure. The interior chrome is bright and shiny and the mirror and original sifter are in mint condition. The base of the compact has slight scratches to the silver coloured metal. The push-in clasp and hinge are in good working order.
